Meet today

Overall, I was very pleased with the way things went. We may not have hit PRs but today was a tough day and in general, we all ran tough and kicked ass. We can celebrate all we want tonight but tomorrow , we get back to work. In particular , I'd like to commend Simon in the 2 mile; Matt E, Julian, and Charles in the mile; Adrien, Nate, Eric, and Matt F in the 800; and of course the 4x4 as a whole. Hopefully, with more races, we can pile up the PRs. Great job fellas, I'll see you all tomorrow

Practice Today

Great job today boys, I was very pleased with a lot performances out there and I'm very excited for Saturday! As far as injuries are concerned, I had a couple things brought up to me and I'll do my best to address them individually:

1. Shin splints
-Doing some stretches, walk a little bit on your heels with your toes in the air.
-I've also read a few blogs and this one stuck out to me as the best one. If you feel the need to skip practice or anything, talk to me about it personally.

2. Ankle Issues
-I won't lie, I literally have no idea what to do about ankle issues. Talk to the trainer. He's the best person to help you.

3. Hip Pain
-STRETCH!!! That's what's gonna help!
-check out these videos:

4. Quads
-Again, STRETCH!!!

Goal Times

Hello again everyone,

On the left side of the page, you can see the goal times you've submitted to me for this upcoming season. For some, I know you're trying to be realistic, but I want everyone shooting for the moon. It's great to be realistic, but what's the point of making goals if they're going to be easy to achieve. For others, I LOVE the ambition. I'm a big believer that you can never set the bar too high. Remember, every truly great accomplishment is at first impossible. I have faith in every single one of you and I honestly can't wait to see you all race. This is gonna be an awesome season and I'm so excited to coach you guys hopefully to greatness. I think we can do it as long as we believe in ourselves. Remember, it's just as much mental as it is physical!

Meet Saturday

Hey everyone!

We got our first meet this Saturday and it's gonna be great for getting some baseline times that everyone should be crushing by the end of the season. I apologize in advance for anyone who I missed in the line-up. I got everyone's names down, but I's still struggling to associate times. Right now, I'm really just going off of what I saw at recent practices and who I want to see perform. If you have an issue or if you'd like to come run, the meet is optional for all so come talk to me and I'll talk with Coach Leal and Coach Grella about fitting you in! Hope the nice easy day went well for you guys, see you all tomorrow!

Welcome!

Hey guys,

In the past, Central's distance track team has had teachers as coaches. This is incredibly convenient, seeing as you can communicate with your coaches very easily thile they're at school with you all day. I wanted to give us all a chance to communicate with each other regularly, so I made this blog. Ideally, I would like to post times and meet dates as well as outstanding performers and things we can improve on. This is really just a beta test so we'll have to see how it goes, but hopefully it works out for us! Enjoy the site guys!
